Discover power guzzlers - and switch them off
Integrate existing electrical appliances into your smart home solution and measure their power consumption. Simply install the Homematic IP switch-metering socket.
As part of the Homematic IP smart home system, you can use the switch-metering socket to control any electrical appliances and measure their energy consumption - from the TV to the coffee machine to the smart home lighting: combined in a group, individually automated, via Homematic IP buttons and remote controls, by voice command, directly on the device or via smartphone. In addition to the added convenience, the Homematic IP switch-metering socket also allows you to easily save electricity costs: On the one hand, electrical appliances and smart home lighting are only switched on when they are needed. Secondly, you can see at a glance how much power the individual appliance is consuming. This allows you to identify power guzzlers and take immediate action.
Installation
Commissioning is very simple: you plug the switchable socket into a socket and then add it to your Homematic IP system via the app. That's it.
How the current measurement works
The integrated measuring device determines the energy consumption between 0 and 3000 watts. It offers a measurement resolution in 0.01 watt steps and a maximum measurement deviation of +/- 0.03 watts. With this high accuracy, even the smallest consumers and even standby consumption can be measured. All values are clearly displayed in the Homematic IP app.
Smart highlight
For a smart indoor climate solution, the switch-metering socket works perfectly with the Homematic IP wall thermostat. If you connect an electric heater to the switch/measurement socket, you can use it to precisely control the room temperature.
Tip
Control the switch/measurement socket - and therefore the respective electrical device - using voice commands. With the Homematic IP skill for Amazon Alexa.
